Probate Service Private Individuals Collection of Certificates

The collection of all the share certificates and statements (or other documents stating ownership) is one of the most important steps in the probate process. If any shareholdings have been omitted the calculation of tax due could be inaccurate. This may lead to the payment of a penalty.

According to the paperwork handed over to Share Data , we list all the registrars needing to be contacted.

In case of missing beneficiaries, Share Data provides genealogical research which ensures executors or administrators to fulfil their legal obligation of locating all inheritors. Our fees are usually a fraction of the cost of using one of the larger firms.

Tips:

  • Ask for several copies of the death certificate
  • Check also for dividend payment advices or counterfoils and any dividend payment information in bank statements
  • If a Will exists check the accuracy of each beneficiary’s contact details.
