Probate Valuation Service

Share Data has over 14 years of experience in probate valuations for investment securities. We have worked on a wide variety of probate cases, from helping first-time executors through the whole administrative process to providing busy lawyers with comprehensive probate services.

Share Data divides its probate service into two distinct stages:

• Valuation of the Estate
• Sale & Transfer of the investment securities

Our valuations provide detailed information on any forthcoming distributions: dividends due but unpaid at the date of death, and interest on fixed-income securities. Each record includes the following fields:

• Ex Date
• Pay Date
• Net Rate per Share
• Gross Amount
• Tax credit
• Net Dividend in Sterling

Accrued interest and foreign exchange rates are also shown, where appropriate.

All our information conforms to HM Revenue and Customs requirements.

When requested Share Data checks all holdings in the portfolio to establish:

• Validity at the date of the death
• Quantity of each holding

We also can help ensure safe administration of the holdings by:

• Lodging copies of the death certificate with all relevant registrars which prevents any unauthorised dealing in the shares
• Arranging for dividend payments to be withheld until they can be re-drawn in favour of the executors
