PA1P and PA1A Forms

Probate Assistance with PA1P and PA1A Forms

When someone passes away, their estate—including property, money, and possessions—needs to be distributed according to their will or, if there is no will, according to UK law. Probate is the legal process that authorizes an executor or administrator to manage and distribute the estate.

What is Probate?

Probate gives legal authority to the executor (with a will) or administrator (without a will) to:

Access the deceased’s assets, such as bank accounts or property

Distribute the estate legally and in compliance with the will or intestacy rules

You usually need probate if the deceased owned:

Significant financial assets (savings, investments)

Property in their sole name

Valuable possessions (cars, jewellery, business assets)

Probate may not be required for small estates or jointly-owned assets.

Who Can Apply?

PA1P (With a Will)
Executors named in the will.
PA1A (Without a Will)
Close relatives (spouse, civil partner, child) can apply to administer the estate.
