Changes to Medallion Guarantees Procedures
Because of Hurricane Sandy flooding Wall Street the basement safes holding share certificates of the various financial institutions and brokerage houses were flooded, the procedures for Medallion Guarantees have now been changed.
Medallion providers no longer will accept an original share certificate for the affixing of the Medallion Guarantee. The Medallion Guarantee can be affixed to a copy of the transfer form found on the back of the share certificate or on the usual USA share registrar’s transfer form.
